Sleep is one of the most important physiological processes that we know of. Recent advances in monitoring have revealed that during sleep the brain is far from just resting. New memories are being stored and our brain is “cleaning” itself. The disruption of these processes is central to the development of dementia. At Slowave Therapeutics we seek to develop medicines that will improve non-REM (slow-wave) sleep. We anticipate that this will improve the lives of dementia sufferers.
